La Delicatesse: orange, beige and wood

Untested waters for t&t, but I couldn’t not share some images from the film La Delicatesse, the set and wardrobe of which are worth viewing alone. There’s this wonderfully unforced retro feel to the entire film that never collapses into hipster cliche. The person responsible for the male lead’s beige on beige ensembles is a genius, and Audrey Tautou is adorned in divine yet realistic knits and coats throughout. But the real star is the wood panelled offices in which they work, with a supporting award to the tangerine-highlighted apartment. Favourite film sets/wardrobes, please? HF.

  1. I Am Love- Italy and Tilda Swinton. Need I say more? Also, Marie Antoinette, because it is such over-the-top girly fun. 🙂

  2. I know this is really daggy but i love bewitched ….sam’s clothes, darin’s office and their home … their interior evolved over the years and also the way the house is also in i dream of jeannie sometimes slightly redecorated!

Bewitched can never be daggy! All those great floral prints & hair ribbons Samantha used to wear!

  5. oooooh, I loved the wardrobe on this film too!!! The knits were so cute and quintessentially French.

Alexia, I went to see the film because of your facebook mention of the knits! I adored her wardrobe – so chic but completely in keeping with the character (I loved how she re-wore outfits throughout, like the rest of us!) Thanks for the comment x
