Kirra Jamison: gouache and vinyl

All of you who reside in Melbourne must get to Sophie Gannon Gallery before May 14 to see the brilliant Kirra Jamison’s solo show Spirit is a bone. I am lucky enough to know Kirra, and also own a beautiful limited giclee print by her: Cosmic might and sunset rider (as seen above in our living room).

Kirra’s work is both enigmatic and visceral. It packs a punch, but not an obvious one. I love the layers of allusions and illusions in her work, and the undercurrents of freedom, nature, the not-easily-explained…

Kirra and Inside Out magazine are auctioning another edition of Cosmic might and sunset rider for the QLD Disaster Relief Fund. Art + charity = win win. Bid here!
