Boats & bottlebrush

The Boathouse in Palm Beach has elevated my summer to an espresso-driven, succulent-laden, waterfront heaven. Although the food, service and location are are wonderful, its their floral displays and garden that really made me fall in love with it.

The owners go to the flower markets once a week and choose blooms to sit in the cafe (around an enormous flowering frangipani branch on a communal table), and outside it in buckets, available to purchase. Picking up a bunch of flowering gum is the perfect end to a breakfast.

Boathouse details can be found here. It’s worth the drive! But get there early – everyone else seems to like coffee by the sea and boughs of agaves too…HF.
