Girard love

…And to continue with my design heroes! Alexander Girard (1907 – 1933): architect, industrial, textile and furniture designer and lover of folk art.

I love Girard’s designs as they fuse the naivety of folk imagery with mid-century modernist forms.

I long to visit the Girard Foundation collection (the Museum of International Folk Art) one day in Santa Fe as my friend Emma was lucky enough to do not long ago!

Today his designs are licensed through Maximo Design, where you can buy his homewares, toys, objects, art and furniture. I’ve always wanted one of these nativity scenes! HF.
